The Champions – and the others
Monday, September 25th, 2006The final finals has been played, and the champions found:
- Mens Singles : Lin Dan, China
- Womens Singles : Xie Xingfang, China
- Mens Doubles : Fu Haifeng/Cai Yun, China
- Womens Doubles : Gao Ling/Huang Sui, China
- Mixed Doubles Nathan Robertson/Gail Emms, England

Martin Lundgaard (left) and the other danish Men’s Doubles failed to qualify for the finals tomorrow. On the other hand – England got a third finalist in Men’s Doubles and is thus the second best nation after China at these championships.
Nathan Robertson jumps for joy, after he and Gail Emms won today and secured an all english finals match tomorrow. Just after noon Anthony Clark and Donna Kellogg paved the way, by winning the first match of today, the other Mixed Doubles semi-final.
For the first time in World Champion History two danish Mens Doubles are in the semifinals. It happened, when Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen and Jens Erikson/Martin Lundgaard both won their matches today. But that was also it – The rest of the danes in the 1/8-finals: Peter Gade and the Mixed Doubles Thomas Laybourn/Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Jonas Rasmussen/Britta Andersen did not make it.
