Chen Hong, China, (left) broke Peter Gade’s dream of getting to the final in the recent World Championsships in Madrid. Today they met again in the 1/4-final at Japan Open. This time Peter Gade got the upper hand.

Jens Eriksen (left) is the “grand old man” in todays danish badminton elite, and thursday he taught everybody a lesson. Not only did he keep his seeds with Martin Lundgaard, but with temporary partner Lena Frier Kristiansen he created an upset in Mixed Double!
Britta Andersen (left), young danish double player was seen here on the floor very, very deep in concentration before her matches in first round Mixed Doubles and Womens Doubles wednesday in Tokyo. She and some of the other danes had tough games, while others, like Peter Gade, sailed through.
When the 2006 Yonex Japan Open Tournament started tuesday, it was with an unusually large group of danish players on the starting list. The team has 14 players. (It is, however, 2 local players who answers questions from local press in the hall on the small picture on the left.)
