Only Gade left in singles

Peter Gade, seeded 3-4, was the only danish singles player to progess from todays 1/8-finals. He beat Shoji Sato, Japan, 21-14, 21-13. The other two hopefulls, Joachim Persson and Tine Rasmussen was unable to create the required upset.
Joachim Persson met the top seeded Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia, and had to bow out. Womens Singles Tine Rasmussen was equally in trouble with 3-4 seed Xie Xinfang, China.

A very fine day for Danish Badminton. Tine Rasmussen won the 2. round of Womens Singles over Kamila Augystin, POL (photo left). And Peter Gade debuted with an easy match against Liao Sheng-Shuin, TPE.
Lars Paaske (photo), Jonas Rasmussen and Tine Rasmussen, won in men’s doubles and womens singles, while Lena Frier Kristiansen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl lost womens doubles.
Joachim Perssons 1 round victory over Shon Seung Mo, Korea – 2004 Olympic Finalist was the danes most cited match today. But also Jonas Rasmussen/Britta Andersen and Lena Frier Kristiansen/Kamilla Rytter Juhl passed the test. Anne Marie Pedersen and Lars Paaske/Helle Nielsen had to bow out.
